A Peep in at Alan Dimmick's Photography Exhibition
View down a corridor in the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow. The show runs until 13 May 2012. Over 300 photographs taken over the last 15 years in and around the visual arts community in Scotland. More info. here.
I spotted a few "kent" faces, and liked the simplicity of the hanging. The prints are tacked onto the walls, no framing, and the titles beautifully handwritten by Alan directly onto the wall underneath each image.
From here I went on to 103 Trongate for a wee look at the Streetlevel exhibition and then lunch with a friend in the Russian Cafe Cossachok. Highly recommend the food here, delicious Rostovsky Salad and Moscow Blintzes.
Then a long look at the George Wyllie Exhibition at the Collins Gallery, University of Strathclyde. I had been at the Preview a month ago, and it was mobbed, so wanted to go back and properly view the show. This is the last exhibition before the Gallery closes on Sat 21 April.
