The National Bird of Finland

is the Whooper Swan.

We found lots of these plus geese, three flavours of woodpeckers and about 30 other species of birds in the fields and woodlands around Oulu.

The temperature rarely bothered to climb about freezing all day, but in the bright sunshine and still air it felt warmer.
