the red earth of Tara

I love the movie Gone with the Wind, and the talk of the "red earth of Tara' but had never seen what the movie was talking about....until I moved to North Carolina. I can't believe the color of the red clay here. The color of brick. And one day my hubby informed me that brick was made from that clay....duh!!! You learn something new every day!! It really is something to behold...red ditches, red roads going through the fields, churned up red earth ready for planting. I know it's a very mundane thing, but it's always charmed and amazed me. Maybe I have a little of Gerald O'Hara in me...LOL!!
