This Little Light of Mine

Some nice things today

Signing the contract for another 12 months in our lovely house, such a relief.

Coming home and my eldest being here when the little ones aren't. We had funny lampshade hanging moments. She is wiser than her mum in a lot of things..not balancing chairs on stairs being one of them.

A professional meeting where my love life was a last minute addition to the agenda (albeit unofficially)

and I found myself explaining the 'Librarian Sliding Scale of Shagability?'

..and the tragicness of hurtling towards 50* and going through dating / not dating / WTF?

In other words...A GOOD MEETING.

Some wonderful people said some lovely things to me when I needed it. Now I just need to learn to LISTEN. #PHD

Four. FOUR people offered to drive me places today...seriously? Just how nice is that? I was really touched

Sweating the small stuff** at work...but battling it with Miss A. We did good :-)

Finding an Age Concern vintage shop...all cool furniture and old suitcases. I spent a while chatting with the ladies who worked in there. It's in a bad location in Oldham..but it's a little gem.

I had that moment where you think...

"OK, I want first dibs on all the lovely stuff here so I'll keep this place under my hat"

"If no bugger comes in here - this place will close down"

I went for the latter and tweeted it and will tell everyone I know about it!

Within 5 mins I had a new 60's coffee pot and a lampshade that looks like a hot air ballooon (one of my obsessions)
