The Occasional Blipper...

Udaipur

Udaipur, the city of lakes has to be one of the jewels in India's crown. It's the most beautiful place that I saw out there. There are probably about ten or twelve pictures that I could have used as a blip, but I really like this one. The light was so beautiful there and the colours so rich that I felt that I could point my camera in any direction and get a image as rich as a painting.

We had less than 24 hours in Udaipur but I felt as if I could have spent weeks seeing the sights and soaking up the atmosphere. In the evening there was a celebration of Shiva and, possibly, Parvati. There were crowds lining the streets, all happy, smiling and interested in what was going on. Unfortunately this meant that many of the roads are closed and we exited Udaipur in the manner of a James Bond cut-scene with a motor-rickshaw (tuk-tuk) rapidly traversing streets closed behind police barriers. Oh and there was running... lots of running.
