Sap du Soleil

We managed to go on a small hike up a moderately tiny mountain today...and it hailed, rained and was sunny in the entire 2 hours we were out!! I can't seem to get a proper day for pictures, but I did manage to get a lot of cruddy ones today. Hah!

I'll link the rest of the album later when I have it all uploaded on Flicker, but for now here is an image of a tree at the top of the mountain, that seemed to have been "rubbed" or something...but the sap was running like mad! There were about 12 trees in the area that looked like this. Rubbed in areas that are impossible for dear etc to get to, so I'm purely confused.
