The first thing that strikes you when you see The White House is how small it is, particularly when one thinks about the scale of so many buildings in the US. The thinking is that the President should not live in a house any different to ordinary members of the public.

This one-man peace camp is positioned at the best point from which to take a photo. It has been there for a number of years (I can't remember exactly how long) and provides a striking contrast to everything else in the area that surrounds it.
