All Pretty in Blue
Scrub Jays (Aphelocoma coerulescens) in the Ocala National Forest. One of my favorite birds because I don't get to see them very often. I was ecstatic when I saw these two this morning. I was out of my truck trying to avoid stepping on a rattle snake or coming face to face with a black bear. I was alone as well which is something I don't recommend. BEST in LARGE.
There's a movement to make the Scrub Jay the State Bird of Florida instead of the Northern Mockingbird and I'm all for it. This Jay is endemic only to certain areas of Florida. To learn more you can check it out HERE.
More photos of the Scrub Jay is in my Blipfolio in the Birds category.
