Titanic and Ted!

We stopped off at the Wallace Hartley Memorial on our way back from shopping.
This blip isn't the memorial it is a sculpture next to it.

We thought it appropriate this week to remember Wallace as he was the bandleader on the Titanic and I blipped his grave a few weeks ago. He was reputed to be playing "Nearer my God to Thee" when the ship went down. They found his body two weeks later and brought him back to Colne where 30,000 people lined the streets for his funeral.

There are lots of interesting events going on in Colne about him over the next few weeks.
