Thumbs down to Clarks Shoes
Well I'm sure you're all dying to know what happened when I returned these shoes to the Clarks shop... but I'm going to tell you anyway!
The manager looked at the shoes and said that she could give me 100% of the value against the purchase of some new ones or I could have a credit note. I asked about a refund, because the shoes obviously weren't up to the job of walking, having worn through in less than three months. "No I'm sorry" she said, we don't give refunds......... WHAT?
After I'd complained (really nicely) about not being able to have a refund the manager went off to phone Customer Services, which made no difference whatsoever. In fact Customer Services told the manager that she should only have offered me 50% of the value of the shoes.
So in the end I more or less had to choose another pair of shoes - and at the same price, as I think £49.99 is more than enough to pay - I didn't want the same shoes again and a credit note's not much use to me in Spain. The shoes in the blip are the result, but they're not nearly as comfortable as the returned ones.
When I got home I had a look on the Clarks website and found several other reviews of the faulty shoes stating that theirs had worn through too, so it's not just me, but it's very strange that my review hasn't (yet) made it onto the website :-)
Buyers of Clarks shoes beware!
