In hiding

But I wanted to show the reconstitution of the hiding place of Manuel Cortes, Socialist Mayor who lived for 30 years behind a secret cupboard door in a small house in the pueblo . He came out of hiding in 1969. Ronald Fraser, who I think has just died, wrote a book about him based on interviews with Manuel, Juliana, his wife and Maria, his daughter. Manuel is quoted as saying: I don't regret for a moment having been active in the struggle to create a better, a socialist world..though I'm finished with politics, my convictions will remain till I die.
