First Gosling

The goose is sooo protective hissing at me and biting my wrist while I was taking this pic. i just hope the other eggs hatch out as well.

When I was at a farm in Bandon this morning collecting half a ton of barley for the pigs the farmer drew my attention to a pair of birds and asked me if I knew what they were. Well I did. Ornithology happens to be one of my lifelong interests. There was a pair of choughs nesting on the top of a girder holding up the roof of a massive barn which sheltered lots of big farm machinery. I was amazed as I thought choughs nested only on craggy cliffs in the far West. My camera was not at hand.
