What a difference 8 days make!!
This lady (I think) was inspecting an empty property 8 days ago and after a slow start she has almost got it fully furnished!!
There is an interesting system whereby the male sits in a nearby tree and makes a chirping sound whilst she is in the nesting box (the sound can be heard on the TV and the bird seen outside). When she leaves, they fly off together and gather nesting material. When they return she is the one carrying the material. Initially she spent ages shuffling the few wisps of material about, but as the time has gone on she is in, drops off the bits and is quickly off again.
My meeting with old colleagues last night went well. We met at 6pm and I expected to be on my way home by 9pm, but we left the restaurant at 10.45... considerable catching up!!!! And as we were all driving home, we were not drinking, so it was all chat!!!!
My take home thoughts were that we were managing NHS services at a time of development and our hard work was rewarded with success. I feel so sorry for those who are still there and are now struggling to prevent services from being decimated. It's just soul destroying :0(
A super end to the day was a FaceTime session with Daughter No 1 & only. She is back in Kathmandu having had a change to plan. They were unable to get a flight to Lukla to trek to Everest base camp, so rather than abandon the trip and disappoint the others that had travelled out from the UK, they flew to Pokhara and did a repeat of the trek to Annanpurna base camp that she & P did during the Christmas holidays.
Although disappointed at the change of plan, she looks well and will be flying back this weekend ready to start school on Monday!!
