My Day, My Life

Superstition

I'm not superstitious, far from it and Black Friday holds no fears for me...

....or so I thought!

Last night whilst working I had a bit of a runny nose and a little discomfort in my throat, hayfever? Wrong!

I rapidly began to feel worse and my body started to ache all over. (nope definitely not hayfever)

I decided I could no longer continue work, so went home and fell into bed.

First thing this morning I called the Dr, whilst doing the best Barry White impression you've ever heard.

He checked me over and confirmed I had influenza, no not man-flu, this is the real nasty one!

Now a few years ago I had flu, or so I thought but after 3 yes 3 different medical people, over 3 days told me otherwise, well I must be mistaken then, mustn't I WRONG!

On the 4th day, a lovely lady Dr came to the house, checked me over, and said 'no, you don't have flu, you have pneumonia' she gave me antibiotics and painkillers galore

Later that same day, I was in so much pain, that I was taken to hospital by ambulance and given yet even more painkillers, 4 different strengths

5 weeks off work and a full year before I was finally pain free, it's not something I'll forget in a hurry.

Oh and when I saw the Dr today he said 'look out for any early signs of pneumonia'

You betcha I will!
