Slowly but surely, Walmart is taking over the world ... Yes, the company is to be applauded for employing older workers, but when Jools and I asked one of the ancient cashiers at our local branch why they had to stand at the cash register all day, we were told, "Management says it's unladylike to sit down while serving customers." We wondered if the store managers stood up in their offices all day . . . "Well, er, no!" Time to get the union in, ladies . . .
