The View from My Window

Meg Cabot writes a series of books about a girl who accidentally saves the life of the President's son. The heroine then falls in love with the son and they live happily ever after. At some point in time in the series in honor of her saving his son the President asks her to preside over a contest called "The View from My Window". Our heroine is forced to view hundreds of drawings and paintings of high school kids' window views. The one she likes best doesn't end up making the cut because it shows America in a less than perfect light. Since I read this book I've always enjoyed this concept. Everytime I look out my window at home I think "this is America as I see it". This view is from my window in Scotland, and while it is just a hill, to me this is Scotland as I see it.
