My lucky day :)

Friday the 13th eh??! I only just realised the date when I started this post. I'm very pleased to say that the demons associated with the date appear to have missed me - hope they missed all of you too :)

So, the day began with a thought that I'd head to Lake Matheson to capture some reflections of the mountains in the lake. The best time to do this is about dawn so I set the alarm for very early . . . . I woke to the gentle sound of a few raindrops on the roof and when I checked out the window there was plenty of cloud overhead. The Lake Matheson was idea was shelved in an instant and I happily went back to sleep for a few more hours!

The day has been very gentle - slow driving, not much distance, plenty of stops and mini-detours, plenty of tea breaks and tonight, for the first time on this trip, I'm staying at an 'official' campground. I'm in Haast (claim to fame - the biggest, meanest sandflies in the country!) and am hooked up for the first time to 'real' power. I've also had my first shower in however long I've been away - luxury! I think I may make Arrowtown tomorrow although there is so much eye candy between here and there I may not. I'll let the decision unfold gently during the day.

Again today, I'm spoiled for choice of a blip. I've taken plenty and I've found it difficult to choose. Check out the overspill images here [will be done soon-ish!!]
