april afternoon in the park

Had a nice walk in the sunshine this morning, kids on bikes at the Gruffalo walk. But by the afternoon it had turned to heavy sleet showers. Still, with a flask of tea in hand we braved the park to watch N's work colleagues battling it out in an amateur football match to celebrate the retirment of one of the linesmen (who was playing in defence). The standard was surprisingly high and it ended a 1-all draw. Ross County would have been a better afternoon of football as they thrashed runners-up Dundee, determined not to be complacent despite having already won the league and secured their place in the Premier League. Still, the am-match was good fun and there was plenty of room for the kids to run round with brollies, and it was free.
