The Graduate

Ten years after leaving school, #2 Daughter, katkatkat, has graduated. Health problems have made it a struggle for her but I'll let her tell that story here.

What a fantastic day it was, the OU had given her 10 tickets so as well as The Man and I going with The Mother and Kat's partner, she also invited the friends who had seen her through the trials and tribulations of trying to study through illness. (One of them had carried her up to her third floor flat after a blackout! All her flats in Edinburgh have been on the third floor!) Even blipmate, meles, was there on the podium in an official capacity as OU staff.

I must say how marvellous Marin Bean was in handing out the degrees! Before becoming V.C. of the OU he had worked in many educational posts including working for Microsoft. He put the student completely at ease and to many of them asked: "Where are your family and friends?" This is Kat saying: "Up there where all the noise is coming from!"

As there are some blippers amongst the group today I've put a few more shots here!
