Heron

I was amazed to find a heron walking close to me in a stream this morning, and incredibly I had the Digital SLR with me. I still only got a chance for a fleeting snap as it took over. Technically not a great shot but it was lovely being so close to this huge bird.
When he was little, my son used to say there was a pterodactyl in the tree, as occasionally a heron would perch precariously in the bay tree at the end of the garden.
