Demand for Water

I step off the bus this morning in Las Tunas after spending the week in Quito at a dry toilets workshop and find my friends and neighbors in protest!

These days water hasn't been arriving in the tubes in Las Tunas and the tanqueros that pump water from the Rio Ayampe to sell in other towns are too busy to sell to us.

So this morning we didn't let them pass and we demanded a lower price for the water... 50 cents a tank instead of a dollar.

More reason NOT to use water to flush away our poop?
