Horse by Philip Blacker

This magnificent sculpture is part of an exhibition in the grounds of Woburn Abbey, near where I live. It is finely observed and sculpted by a sculptor who used to be a steeplechase jockey. He knows his horses.

He has another tremendously moving work in the exhibition, called Flanders Mud (which brought to mind images of Warhorse, by Michael Morpurgo, which I saw at the National Theatre in 2010). But, this being Blip, I can only offer one image today.

The exhibition is called ARTBEAT and can be seen in the village of Woburn as well as in the grounds of the Abbey.
