A Visit to the Garden Centre and Nursery.
Stonehill Garden Centre is one of my favourite places to experience the beauties of the plant world. This afternoon was nice and sunny so we went there to buy some potting compost to start growing some vegetables.
This blip is of some pretty tulips, but there were many lovely bedding plants and excellent trees, shrubs and house plants.
We also bought some Wild flower seeds.
One packet was a cornflower mix, ideal for difficult areas, so they will look nice on rough land at the railway station. The other packet is to attract birds, butterflies and bees.
It is an English Wildflower mix by Thompson and Morgan who are serious about their seeds and a bit pricy too! They should be good quality.
I have now sown, in seed trays, lettuce, radish, beetroot, cabbage and snowball turnip. I hope they are successful.
All these veg. seeds were from Wilkinsons in Accrington, 3 for 2 and good value.
Lidl also have some low price garden seeds.
