Four

Today did not start as early as I was expecting. This could be because I was a bit cheeky last night and told Girl that her birthday would start just when her alarm light went off. She managed to stay quiet until just before it went off, but broke the silence after her brother started a morning shoutathon which had already woken us up.

Girl was very excited and opened her cards on our bed with the biggest smile. This smile continued with present opening before and after breakfast. Boy struggled a little watching his sister grab the attention and presents but a finger skateboarding non-birthday present then occupied him for the rest of the morning as he transported lots of taoy animals around the house.

The favourite thing for Girl today was probably a Peppa Pig card with her name printed on it which she carried about for the morning though I think the thing that made her smile the most was the pride in being four instead of three.

This afternoon we decided fight the breeze and to stick with the outdoor exclusive party as her request and the sun even came out for a bit. Girl and her friends had a good run around before eating Wifes first ever made birthday cake. It was very good by the way.

After the party it was home for Girls favorite and traditional birthday dinner of macaroni cheese, followed by a long bedtime routine probably due to all the excitement of the day, though I think Boy should have found a better excuse.
