Moment's Wonder

Spring Run Off

It was the perfect day for a hike in the Superior National Forest!

Our last minute trip came together like it was meant to be. We didn't have reservations on the shore and after our dinner with my son, it was after 7:00 by the time we headed up highway 61.

A couple phone calls along the way and Bluefin Bay had a dog friendly studio available a stone's throw from Lake Superior. We fell asleep to the sounds of waves lapping the shore.

Saturday started out grey and cold but by noon the sun was out and the temps perfect mid 60's.

We hiked along the Cascade River on the Superior National Hiking Trail for four and half hours and then returned to our lake side patio for a glass of wine. Evening found us listening to a blues guitar concert sponsored by Bluefin Bay.

On the way home, we stopped for lunch with my mom in her apartment that overlooks St Louis Bay.

I definitely got my north woods fix that the trip was all about, not to mention time alone with my new, old boyfriend.

This blip was my best effort to show the movement of the water over the rocks.
