Thistle Down

To Live

Would that I could live,
On through the years.
Even though I have the will,
And coming age appears.

If I could look for better times,
In all I do.
And marvel at what comes along,
In all that's new.

If in my mind,
I could rally forth in thought.
And be glad in my living,
What experiences has brought.

If I could glory in my life,
And be glad that I am me.
And measure up in all I do,
In real sincerity.

Then let me live on earth,
Until my hours are gone.
That there might be fulfillment,
Ere...I venture on.
