From Russia With Love

Today was another day of birthday celebrations, this time for my uncle, John, so we headed over to Haulwen & John's house for tea. It was a little bit tense owing to a spilt drink on a handmade Turkish rug. That combination of silent seething and unforgiving glances never fails to put me on edge, and I found the familiar fluttering sensation back in my chest.

Luckily, this little chappy was there to help us all relax. Nathan turns 5 on Tuesday and was on top form. As we sat around the table he looked directly at me and announced to all present: "Do you know, I'm going to marry Siany." I don't think he understands that, even if the age gap were not enough of a barrier, we're also cousins! Nonetheless, I was very flattered as he stretched his arms out wide to indicate the size of diamond he intended to offer me.

The lady he ends up marrying will be very lucky indeed!
