Fight! Fight! Fight!

Today's photograph was taken in Princes Street Gardens during my lunch hour. A little crowd had formed around the birds and I was almost half expecting a bookie's runner to pass through us taking bets.

At the end of the fight, the loser limped off looking a little shell shocked and embarrassed (if indeed a seagull can look shell shocked and embarrassed) and, whilst they were really going for it at the time, neither bird seemed at all injured. Incidentally, the seagull standing to the right trying to look nonchalant didn't even attempt to "jump in" which I thought was more than a little shabby.

No seagulls were harmed in the taking of this photograph.
