Photographic Poeticisms

Perfect Flaws

No matter how perfect
An object appears to the eye
There is often something hidden
That makes you want to cry

No matter how pristene
This delicate piece might appear
There's that little blemish
That makes you shed a tear

But why do we look to another
To be perfect when we aren't
Why do we want to force them
To try to be what we can't

So better, shouldn't it be
To accept them, warts and all
Neither age nor looks a barrier
But rather what they are overall

For perfection is easily flawed
And dreams are only that
A thing that gets your hopes up
Before you're knocked flat

Remember while looking for hearts
And dreaming of turtle doves
A dear, dear friend by your side
Is worth a million lost loves
