Hoverfly
A slight chill in the morning air but a nice bright sunny day - clouded for Mrs P by the fact it is the last day before the daily grind begins all over again. The huge logs left over from felling are slowly being chopped to a more reasonable size but we are managing only fairly short spells of about 30 minutes - perhaps 2 shifts per day. We've now got a few that have not been splittable with the axe so it's time for the chain saw. We did go down to Highland Industrial Supplies to investigate log-splitters and were quite impressed with the machine that a very helpful man demonstrated - he'd used one himself and knew a lot more than the average person would. On the other hand a lot of the work for us is simply shifting the pieces of wood - some are very heavy and unwieldy. And then stacking it - we really need a bigger garden. I suppose one "advantage" of the tree was that it "stacked" the wood into a small base with a big height, but we can't really recreate that. All of which is nothing to do with my actual blip - as the garden starts to bloom the bees and other insects are appearing. I liked this shot because the hoverfly is still in mid-air.
