Rose Parade

Today was my boyfriend's 25th birthday! He stayed over my place last night and we were awoken around 7 this morning to a voice over a microphone that sounded like he was giving directions. My room has no windows whatsoever (It's an older building and my room unfortunately is in the middle of the apartment, thus impossible for windows) so we had no idea what was going on (whether the noise was from the TV, my roommates room, etc) Found out there was a parade/fair being set up for. What's cool about my 2nd floor apartment is that it is located on Main Street in Ravenna in the "historic" part of town, so we were able to watch the parade from the windows in the main room. (Although it is cool living in "downtown" Ravenna, it also sucks sometimes, mostly at night, because traffic, specifically the loud disel trucks, can keep you up at night, especially if you are sleeping in the main room for whatever reason.)

I am pretty sure it was a "Portage County" Fair thing that was going on because there were a quite a few marching bands from different neighboring city schools participating in the parade. We watched the parade for a bit, then ate breakfast, got ready, and left for the boy's house for birthday celebrations. It was a good day all around :)
