Life's tangled skein

Strathfillan Wigwams

We had a little holiday starting today, and have booked a couple of days at Strathfillan Wigwams.

This is one of the wigwams (though not ours - our location wasn't quite so lonely and photogenic). behind it, the snow-capped peak of one of the Crianlarich hills.

The wigwams themselves are spartan, but provide clean accommodation for a family of four. They are well-insulated, have a heater, fridge and beds, but not much more. If you wake up in the middle of the night needing to go a place, you have to walk to it in your jammies. In the snow, if you're as lucky as we were!

The site had a well-appointed kitchen area, so making your own food is not a problem. It's also on the West Highland Way, with the next stop being at Tyndrum - a village well equipped for eating out, with the Green Welly Stop and the Read Food chippy.

But that's for tomorrow...

Note: I did try cropping this in a bit, but I found that I liked the sense of loneliness that the big sky gave to the picture
