Fleeting Glimpse

Iris suaveolens, a tiny bearded iris, just 4 inches high. The flowers on these iris are always fleeting, especially if the weather is warm. The current cold spell should keep them looking nice for a few days. Last year in the April heatwave they were 24 hour wonders.

Growing in a sunny raised bed where it has slowly spread over the last five years. This is the purple form, I also have a yellow one which is not out yet.
