Broken kindle drama

Carelessly I dropped my kindle from a great height onto the tiled patio. Unsurprisingly it stopped working. I use my kindle a lot everyday, eg to read the Guardian and was v upset about breaking it. Anyway I emailed Amazon about whether I could get it repaired and they say they'll mail me a replacement free of charge. If this really happens, I'll be so delighted - what great customer service. In the meantime, they say I can download an app so I can read everything on my pc. It feels a bit magical, all this technology.
