Back to the Grind

It was open!

We returned to Lancaster to visit J. Atkinson & Co and it proved to be everything I hoped it would be, a specialist artisan coffee roasting house. The sounds, the scent, the brass scales, the knowledge of the beans, roasting, grind, style of brewing, country of origin. I was salivating.

As I spoke to the staff and discussed my preferences and type of coffees that I hoped to take home with me, I entrusted the camera duties to my ever helpful assistant and nephew, Owen. The staff were extremely helpful and were very keen for Owen to take some photographs and were offering him opportunities to take pictures of the 'green beans' before they hit the roaster. All was great!

We left with some goodies from India, El Salvador (pictured), Ethiopia and Guatemala. Delightful!

We drove home to Glasgow after our little holiday, pizza and bed!
