Abandoned

Went to visit one of our sites in the back of beyond on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi. It is another shopping mall.

The driver was supposed to pick me up. However I got fed up after 30 minutes (not a lot in Middle East terms) and went to get a taxi. After a trudge through the soft desert sand, I found a large fence blocking me to the highway. I walked about a mile when I thought a bird cr*pped on my head, but it was a large rain drop instead (yippee my first rain for a year). Alas it was only a few drops.

When I got to the highway, a taxi appeared quickly and took me to the car hire place, as I am fed up catching taxis everywhere.
