Ponte Rotto
The Pons Aemilius or Ponte Emilio, the oldest Roman stone bridge in Rome, now known as the Ponte Rotto (broken bridge). This arch dates back to 142 BC, and in 12 BC the Empreror Augustus completely restored the bridge. The bridge was defunct by 1598, when its eastern half was carried away in a flood. The remaining half was demolished in the 1880s, leaving behind only one arch.
