Wednesday: Grey With Colour
I went to the post office today and managed to buy stamps for two letters - another little linguistic conquest. Not that it was particularly difficult - all I did was slide the letters over, smile a winning smile, and make flapping movements with my arms to indicate airmail.
A little detour on the way back to the office took me past this house. That said, these blue signs are all over the place - virtually every house of a certain age has them. I asked a colleague what they signified and apparently it is to do with the fact that, until recently, houses had to show externally that they were insured and this was the evidence. Quite a pretty way of showing it, I think.
