Floods

So. East of England is in drought, is it?

Well, our water-table is high, our rivers are full. Our drains don't work!

This lake appeared in an hour of this lunchtimes deluge. It's over a foot deep at the kerb-side and it's not a good idea to be at the side of it as a bus goes past. As a full-time pedestrian, I am sorry for cyclists. A bow wave on a mountain bike only goes one way.

The new car-parks are very quick to lose water but it's scary to see it flowing towards the drains! The hospital is downhill.

Anyhow. I got wet going home for lunch, had half an hour to dry off and got wet going back to work.

Oh the awful feeling of wet trouser on cold leg.
