Pitch -turesque

Probably one of the most picturesque cricket pitches in England.

A short way out of Lynton and Lynmouth on the North Devon, Somerset Border, lies the Valley of Rocks, where the only flat piece of land for miles around has been utilised as a cricket pitch.

The Valley of Rocks is a beautiful area of moor and steep rocky outcrops that runs parallel to the coast.

There are fantastic views in all directions and a steep coastal path to Lynton and Lynmouth, that takes about 30 -40 minutes at a brisk walk. Here there is a wonderful cliff railway, built in 1888 to take you from Lynmouth at sea level to Lynton at the top of the gorge.

The area is well worth a visit.
