Holiday backblip- New Zealand- Day 10
Or the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand?
Drove down to Rotorua today which was about a 4 hour drive so took up a lot of the day. We drove over these mountains a few days ago up and down some very twisty roads. I was in the back of the campervan and it was a white knuckle ride!
Today we drove past them (I took this from the moving van) along some other twisty roads before stopping for lunch in a town called Bethlehem. Yes really!
When we got to Rotorura we checked into a campsite, the boys moaned about the smell of sulphur, we all made lots of fart jokes then we went to a park with lots of pools of bubbling steaming mud. Like hot water beach it was very surreal! The mud was very cool (well actually it was very hot) and fun to watch.
Then we had to trawl the tourist tat shops looking for a pair of 'jandals' (flipflops) for Cameron who had become obsessed.
Oh and Andrew was sick which we thought was travel sickness, then later decided it was sunstroke then 2 days later when Cameron threw up decided it was a bug!
