Panic On The Streets of..............Polanco

Terror gripped the hearts of many people, especially the Valet Parkers as, for the 1st time in the history of the city, parking meters have been introduced.

Today was the 1st day, after the painting of the parking zones and erection of said meters that the Parkies came out in force to enforce the new regulations.

And consequently, I was greeted to the sight of people running round like headless chickens trying to get their cars away before the Parkies go to them and learning the pointless art of pleading w/them to try to secure leniency!

The Valet Parkers will be the ones to lose out most significantly, as they make use of any available space to park the cars. However, now the number of available places has shrunk massively. They will now have to risk getting other peoples' cars ticketed or else factor in the cost of parking to their own costs for parking.

Is that the sound of death knells I hear in the distance, only time will tell.
