A milestone and a celebration
A bit of a big day today. This was treatment no. 19, which meant that half-way through it I reached the mid point of my total radiation sessions.
If anything called for a bit of celebration, this did, so Carl came over to St Luke's to meet me at 11:30, we went for lunch in the wonderful Bijou restaurant in Rathgar, drove back to Carl's place, left the car there, and headed out on a Dún Laoghaire razz. Actually, we stopped off at Byrne's of Galloping Green on the way on the off-chance that an old friend of mine, who's the owner, might be there He wasn't, but our stop did provide me with the blip of the day (just sunlight shining through coloured glass on the front of the pub onto the carpet in the lounge side).
Our razz went well, though the planned beginning in Kozie 2 had to be abandoned because there was no barman to be seen. From then on, though, everything went really well and we had a wonderful time, celebrating in great style. We ended up meeting Carl's cross-the-road neighbour in Scott's on the Dún Laoghaire main street. This is a spot we don't usually frequent, but it's hard to refuse going in when they're offering all pints for only 3 euro 10 (a better deal for Carl and Ed than for me, since my low-fibre diet doesn't allow beer or fizzy drinks).
