Rock crumble

Christchurch residents know Shag Rock well (on the left in the water). It's on the way to the seaside suburb of Sumner. But I saw a different perspective today from my friend's verandah.

The quakes have so reduced the height of the rock, that some wit has renamed it 'Shag Pile'.

The shipping containers are protecting the road from unstable rock. The house has suffered some serious damage too (easy to see in large).
