Gazebo
Tuesday
This morning was the first meeting after the summer break of our knitting ministry at church. I think I've talked about this in previous entries, but for newcomers, we knit prayer shawls for those who are ill or recovering from surgery, or those who are grieving, or going through other difficult times. We also knit sweaters for kids in need either at home or around the world, through the Guideposts magazine project. We also knit baby blankets for Project Linus, baby caps and bootees which go to the hospitals and helmet liners for the troops. We meet twice a month. Since it was our first meeting after the summer, we had a "show and tell" of any other personal projects we had been working on. I took along the afghan I have been knitting for Laura in Miami University colors - I've finished the knitting, and fastening in all the ends, and I'm working on the fringe - I should have it finished very soon. Peggy had been knitting one for her son, and Joan had knitted a really pretty cardigan for her granddaughter. My blip is taken at the back of the pre-school and Sunday School wing of our church. The gazebo has only been there a year or so - I expect it is a popular place for wedding photos with the lake in the background.
In the evening I went to Jubilant Singers rehearsal. Roger gave his club bike ride a miss this week as his knee was playing up a bit.
