April Challenge #20 - something I drew
I've been following the April Challenge for a bit, but never quite found the time or courage to join. However, I thought I might manage "something I drew".
I have no claim whatsoever to being artistic, but I have found recently that I enjoy drawing as part of meditation and prayer. This came from a pre-Christmas visit to Lindisfarne - the striped arches of St Mary's church, Christmas star, storms outside the church - it was very windy that day.
It helped me focus on following God while dealing with storms in my work and home life, seeking his peace, as I sat alone (incredibly) in the quiet of St Mary's church while the wind howled outside.
Drawing helps me pause and stay with a thought, turning it around and around to reflect on it properly, rather than rushing on to the next thing. I should probably do more of it.
