Managed a quick run out at 7 ish this morning, yesterdays showers had obviously fallen as snow as the top of Canigo had a fresh covering.

The ski slopes are all moaning because they shut down after Easter, and had no snow so this late dump has come too late. Think they need to rethink the business model, like so many enterprises they are stuck rigidly in "we've always done it this way mode", surely they should follow the customer not the season?

One of our local pools won't open until the middle of June and always closes on 1st September, no matter what the weather. Our neighbour thinks we are weird because we don't wait until St someone or other before we use our pool. Mind you it is rumoured that his wife sews him into his vest on 1st October and removes it in a special ceremony round about 15th May, this is the one whose father in law eats a bulb of raw garlic every morning for breakfast, ensuring that he remains untroubled by company for most of the day.

The rain at least has made the trees and fields green, though the streams around remain almost dry.
