inspired by birdsong - again!

Last time it was a thrush singing his heart out. The blackbird has a more relaxed melody. Look at the jaunty way he cocks his tail feathers. He was keeping a beady eye on me as I approached his favourite song spot on our holly tree.

Seconds after I took this shot, he was up and away to perch on our neighbour's roof, warbling a new tune.
