The weather couldn't have been better for what turned out to be a magical evening cruise. After taking on essential supplies (fuel) and passengers (H, M, and another H), the skipper set a steady course for Isay Island - long since abandoned by it's small yet stoic population.
To the south of a string of small ruined houses on the eastern shore lies one large ruin, where a murderous host dispatched several gathered dinner guests in a macabre and grizzly frenzy. Even though we were just offshore, the place took on a tangiable atmosphere as the story unfolded.
On our way home the gods smiled on us and in the beautiful evening sunshine we were lucky enough to spot our first puffin of the season! The wee fellow scuttled off in quite a hurry, but not before allowing all of us a glimpe of him. How cool is that!
Oh, and did I mention the good weather . . . . . .
