A sad day

Lucie telephoned early sounding distressed. She had just read that our neighbour's boyfriend of several years had been fatally injured in a shark attack. We are all horrified by this tragic news and have been able to think of little else. It is inconceivable to imagine that such a beautiful, bright and talented young man, who had everything to live for, is no longer here.

Felicity and I drove to Franschhoek to pick up some things which I needed to collect. The breathtaking scenery was a welcome distraction from our unsettled thoughts.
